Sensing Devices’ RTD design and manufacturing business operates in tandem with the in-house production of ceramic and flat-film detectors as the core component of the sensors.
Our detector producing expertise ensures the accuracy, repeatability, and stability of every RTD manufactured and assembled in-house and our processes are quality assured to ISO:9001:2015. We utilise our onsite UKAS accredited calibration laboratory to evaluate the RTDs every stage and can offer uncertainties as low as ±0.6mK over the range –85°C/650°C.
We design and manufacture temperature sensors and RTDs for specialised and high-precision applications across a wide range of sectors. Complete RTD assembly is carried out in-house. This includes component machining, element manufacture, and assembly calibration to UKAS where required. This turnkey approach to each component ensures the reliability and accuracy of the finished RTD.
Our highly experienced technicians can advise you on the best approaches for the most demanding of applications.
Sensing Devices has over 300 RTD designs on-record for a wide range of applications. The temperature range of each RTD is specific to the insulating materials used and the sensor design. Our inhouse design team help clients with the specification and design of sensors for practically any application.
The company is Ex and IECEx approved for the manufacture of RTDs. We supply a range of customisable RTDs that can be issued with Ex & IECEX certification.

We specialise in the manufacture of close tolerance RTDs, frequently to 1/20th DIN tolerance, (i.e. 0.07°C at 121°C). Producing RTDs to these close tolerances offers significant advantages and cost savings in critical applications and processes, such as those used in fermentation, solvent recovery, and sterilisation processes.
Resistance Temperature Detectors are used widely across electrical and mechanical equipment, most commonly in engines, generators, computers, and processes such as pharmaceutical and food production.
